Where I'm From By Rebekah Where I’m from
A poem inspired by: Where I’m from” by George Ella Lyon
By: Rebekah De La Peña
I am from hard work and perspiration
From a pencil writing on a paper
I am from the wood on a desk in a classroom.
Honey, brown, glossy
It tastes like cold sweat
I am from those cold classrooms
The anxiety building up.
Whose long gone teachers are forgotten about?
They remember me their former student
I am from that hard work and perspiration
still continuing right now
that helped me be here today.
